Satellite Testing & Evaluation Intern
May 2023 — August 2023
Spacecraft Testing ESD Anomaly Documentation High Bay STE Calibration

Role Overview

Served as a Satellite Testing & Evaluation (STE) Intern at Boeing, working in a high-bay ESD-controlled environment to support powered spacecraft testing. Executed test procedures, documented anomalies, and provided technical troubleshooting support for multiple spacecraft programs simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executed 30 test procedures, documenting equipment anomalies, to verify 8 spacecraft subsystems within one week
  • Calibrated simulators and power equipment for high-bay testing and launch-site operations
  • Provided technical and troubleshooting support for 5 spacecraft's STE in an ESD controlled environment
  • Maintained detailed anomaly logs and test result documentation per program requirements

Test Environment

  • ESD controlled high-bay — electrostatic discharge protocols and procedures
  • Powered spacecraft testing — live electrical systems verification
  • Simulator calibration — spacecraft subsystem hardware-in-the-loop testing
  • 5 concurrent spacecraft programs — simultaneous multi-vehicle support

Subsystems Tested

Executed verification procedures across 8 spacecraft subsystems including electrical power, command & data handling, communications, attitude control, and payload interfaces. Documented anomalies with sufficient technical detail to support engineering disposition and corrective action.
